Svetlana Kurbatskaia

Svetlana Kurbatskaya is a monumental painter, member of the Russian Union of Artists. 

 

Short Biography:
            
1976-1984 Student at the Art School, Vladikavkaz. 
  

1986-1989 Student at Northern Osetian Art College, Painting Department, Vladikavkaz.

1989-1991 Instructor of Painting and Drawing at the Vladikavkaz Lyceum.                                          

1990-1991 Student at the Graphic Art Department of the Vladikavkaz University.        

1991-1992 Foundation course student at the Repin St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture.

1992-1998 Student at the Repin St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture, studying and working at the Monumental Painting Workshop. Thesis project: "Wedding in the 17th century" (mural in a hotel).       

1998-2002 Student at Postgraduate course lead by Professor Andrey Mylnikov. 

1997-2003 Easel paintings (portraits, still life, landscape). Exhibitions at galleries of the USA at Chattanooga, Tennessee, at Richmond, South Carolina and Birmingham, Alabama. Now the artworks are part of private collections.                            

Since 2003 up to the present time, Svetlana has been working on private monumental projects for monumental projects in Saint-Petersburg and participates in recurring exhibitions of the Russian Union of Artists.   
            
Teaching career with FCAA:      
2009 - 2015 Drawing and Painting visiting instructor at the Florence Classical Arts Academy, Florence Italy 

2016 until the present day - Resident professor of painting at the Florence Classical Arts Academy
