FOUNDATION OF RESTORATION

ONE YEAR PROGRAM

RESTORATION OF OIL PAINTINGS

Fall and Winter Enrollment

Scholarship opportunities are available for 2019-2020!  Contact us for more information at admissions@artac.org

This course is a unique program that integrates the essential knowledge in the Visual Arts and Restoration. The students will undergo a program where the main curriculum components are synced with the Painting & Drawing Three-Year Diploma Program (for the full list of subjects see https://www.artac.org/one-year-program) and Restoration of oil paintings periodical workshops.

The students will have access to the workshop sessions all of January and May which will be entirely focusing on Restoration. These sessions will run simultaneously with the main program, which means that during the weeks of the workshops the students will be taking only restoration classes and no main program subjects.

The students taking this program are working in direct contact with original paintings. For example, in 2016-2017 the Academy has realized a restoration project of an antique original painting of large dimensions by Florentine artists of 17th century Pietro Dandini. This project was accomplished under collaboration with one of the key museums of Florence - Palazzo Pitti. The program also includes copying paintings of old masters and learning their original techniques while learning to restore artworks.
