Introduction
This course is an advanced workshop on portraiture. Composition studies and sketch practice are included in the curriculum. A student can choose from two directions: painting or drawing. The course is recommended for advanced students, who already have studied foundations of the constructive method.
Learning Outcomes
· Understanding the compositional arrangement of the canvas
· Mastering proportions of the major and minor forms of the head
· Deepening anatomical analysis and applying it in both drawing and painting
· Refining facial details (nose, eyes, lips, etc.)
· Developing a broader coloristic and tonal vision, with refined execution across all aspects
· Revealing the physiological and character-specific qualities of the model
Schedule
Monday to Friday — 3 hours per day
(Includes two hours of instruction and one hour of independent work)
Please note that this workshop is not a standalone course; it is integrated into our full-time program. This means that participants join an existing long-term student group. However, because we value one-to-one teaching and individualized guidance, each workshop participant receives the same level of personal feedback and support from the professor.
If a museum visit is organized, the entrance fee is to be covered by the student, while the professor’s professional guidance is included in the tuition. There are no classes on Italian public holidays.
