EVENING COURSES

Portraiture Painting  Limited palette

Students study portraiture from real-life working only with live models. Technique - limited palette (grisaille).

The students learn how to go from general to specific in learning such a complex form substance as a real head. The course consists of several stages of learning: compositional solution for the canvas, proportions of the big form of the head, character of the model, color content, anatomy analysis of the form, building up the form of the head and working on the details of the face.

Course objectives:

The tasks will become progressively more complex starting from building up a basic form of a  human head and climaxing to conveying the inner psychology of a  person in portrait.

* form of a human head (which implies anatomical knowledge about the form,    perspective of a head, proportions of a head);

* how the light influences a head of a model;

* tonal analysis of a live model’s head;
